Who AM I?
An OG SaaS Content Marketer.
The year is 2014. The world is ripe with content farms churning out content at a rapid rate all in the hopes of gaming Google and Bing's algorithm for the top spot on SERPs.
A small content agency start-up, Skyword, aimed to change this. I was hired as a Content Strategist and worked my way up to Senior Content Strategist, managing entire content strategies for brands like Purina, Equifax, and Philips. I focused on delivering growth and hitting KPI's for clients. I had to present quarterly results in-person (Yes, seriously. Zoom presentations weren't a thing.) to their executive teams.
Skyword was great for sharpening my content skills but I wanted to own the entire strategy—so I followed the tech yellowbrick road (really cobblestones in Boston) to one of the hottest tech start-ups of 2015, Localytics.
I worked my way up to Head Of Content and found my passion—driving connections and fueling growth with content:
-I oversaw Localytics' entire content strategy—from email nurture, blog, video, podcast, etc.
-I transformed our entire content strategy to product-led & personality-based.
-We told stories, led with data, and had fun. The results:
2 years of +20% & +15% YoY growth in impressions and lead generation.
Why did I leave Localytics for the fractional world? Two reasons:
1.) I was about to have my first child and wanted more flexibility
2.) I saw a gap in the market—start-ups needed content but
weren't ready to hire a full-time content lead
I went fractional in 2018, and haven't looked back. I apply the same principles from my full-time career to my clients,
and the fact that I'm still thriving 7 years later speaks for itself.
