Does SEO still matter in 2022?

The short answer? Yes.

The long answer? SEO has evolved drastically over the past decade. Long gone are the days of brands keyword stuffing to boost ranking (we’re all glad about this). 

📉And with any over saturated marketing channel, brands are seeing lower CTRs. 

👆🏽But that doesn't mean SEO is pointless, you just need to evolve your strategy.


🚨 Here are 4 elements of a successful SEO strategy today:

1. Keyword placement: The best practices around including your keyword in your title, opening paragraph, headers, alt text for images, etc. is still a good structure to follow. But DON'T over do it. And DON'T include it if it doesn't fit.

2. Focus on longtail keywords: Longtail keywords tend to have lower search volume which can allow you to capitalize. They’re also how many people search today. Instead of “seo tools” consider “best seo tools for content”. 

3. Create great f*cking content: Seriously. Time on page MATTERS even more so today. Google takes into consideration if users click on your page and bounce quickly so make sure your content is engaging.

4. Find an untapped niche: In addition to going after more popular search terms, spend time figuring out what questions your target audience will be asking in the near future and start creating content around those topics (e.g. seo trends for 2023, 2023 google keyword algorithm, etc.)
